About Author

I am a researcher in computational modelling with over fifteen years of experience developing mathematical models of electrochemical and engineering systems. My work combines physics-based modelling, numerical methods, optimisation and data analysis to understand complex processes and support the design of new materials, sensors and energy technologies.

Most recently, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, University of Turku, Finland, where I developed computational models and optimisation methods for battery energy storage systems and Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS). My research combined dynamic system modelling, battery degradation, control algorithms and techno-economic optimisation to improve the performance, lifetime and sustainability of energy storage technologies.

Before joining the University of Turku, I worked at Åbo Akademi University and AGH University of Science and Technology, where I developed computational models for electrochemical sensors, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, ion transport and inverse problems. Throughout my career I have applied mathematical modelling to a broad range of systems, including batteries, electrochemical sensors, hydrogen technologies, cement-based materials and biological systems (including mitochondria and neurons).

My current research focuses on several interconnected areas:
• battery modelling and degradation,
• Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS),
• computational modelling of electrochemical systems,
• optimisation and control,
• intelligent sensing and electrochemical characterisation,
• inverse problems and parameter estimation,
• sustainable energy technologies.

Alongside research, I actively contribute to higher education through teaching, supervision and course development. I have accumulated more than 1,500 contact hours of teaching, completed formal university pedagogical training (25 ECTS), and supervised Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral students in computational modelling, electrochemistry and engineering.

I believe that computational modelling is most valuable when it connects rigorous physical principles with practical engineering applications. My goal is to develop reliable computational models that advance scientific understanding while providing practical tools for research, industry and education.
